Hi everyone , brothere and sisters ^^
One difficult aspect of English pronunciation is that you don't always pronounce every letter in a word. For example, you don't pronounce the 'l' in 'walk'.
But how do you know what these silent letters are?
Some pronunciation tips on silent letters
- a 'b' at the end of the word is often not pronounced:
i.e. bomb, thumb, dumb
- a 'k' before 'n' is not pronounced:
i.e. knee. know
- in words starting 'psy', the 'p' is not pronounced:
i.e psychology, psychiatry
